Single Session Consultation

What is a Single Session Consultation?

Single Session Therapy (SST) is brief support around a specific issue an individual, family or couple might be experiencing. Single session therapy (SST) is evidence-based approach to help identify and address challenges in a brief way, usually from one to three sessions (so not necessarily a “single” session).

Therapeutic Approach:

Single Session Therapy (SST) is an approach that prioritises the needs of an individual, couple, or family in a time limited way. SST treats each session as if it were the only one, aiming to make the most of the time available by focusing on the most immediate issue, defining a clear, specific goal to work towards, focusing on strengths and skills, and helping to identify and practice things to become “unstuck”.

My Approach:

My practice focuses on understanding the person — or people — coming to therapy in the fullest sense. This means looking beyond symptoms or diagnoses to explore personal history, life circumstances, and family of origin — or, as I like to call it, the "first family." I’m particularly interested in how people make meaning of their experiences, as this shapes how they understand themselves and relate to the world.
I tailor treatment to the unique person in front of me, recognizing that each individual brings their own life story, needs, and way of being in the world.

I believe meaningful change begins with curiosity, compassion, and a sincere effort to see the whole person — not just the problem.

How do i know if SST is right for me? SST could be right for you if the following applies to you: - You are unable to have more than one therapy session - You are clear about the mental health or relationship challenge you are experiencing and would like to address during SST. - You have a goal in mind that you would like to achieve through SST.
How Long is SST? Each session of SST is 90minutes, there may be between 1- 3 sessions. If further sessions are desired, they can be arranged in line with the SST approach.
Is SST all i need for my issue? The short answer is we can’t know until we understand more about you, your background, and your current circumstances . Please contact and request a consultation so that we can understand if SST is the best fit for you.
Not everyone wants to attend, can we still come to SST? Yes. Individuals, Couples and Families can attend SST.
